Information may be received via regular mail, fax, interoffice mail and/or email.
Files incoming information (i.

, test results, consultation notes) into the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including tasking to provider and other clinical staff PAQs.
Monitor fax lines - make sure the lines in working condition and follows up on any identified issues.
Task medication communications to medical assistants (i.
e.
, pharmacy requests, prescription refill requests, etc.
) Prepare and mail correspondence to patients for appointment scheduling.
This may include appointments for lab results, pharmacy refills, etc.
for patients who have not been seen in a specified period of time.
Manage Rosetta Holding Tank (electronic system for mismatched labs).
Return mismatched labs to Quest for correction and resubmission to patient's EHR.
Manage the clinical provider's electronic in-box (PAQ).
Monitor inboxes for inactivity.
Report any inactivity to clinic managers, QI staff and Director of Operations for instructions on reassigning.
Makes appropriate reassignments.
Updates Electronic Practice Management (EPM) system with alerts to notify staff of patients discharged from PTH practices.
Print out verbal order forms requiring physician 'wet' signatures, send via interoffice for signature.
Respond to telephone calls from MAs requesting or waiting on results for providers.
Performs a self-audit of daily work to ensure correct application of incoming information to the EHR or EPM.
Additional Responsibilities If multilingual, provides language translation for non-English speaking patients in a manner that is accurate and medically competent Participate in employee meetings and provide input on recommended changes Travel Requirements Occasionally may travel to other sites to attend meetings, training, or to cover other shifts.
