Director of Risk Management & Patient Safety

DEFINITION:
Responsible for the strategic planning, implementation & effectiveness of a comprehensive Risk Management & Patient Safety Program across the continuum, linking the plans w/ the organizational vision & mission as well as leadership's goals & objectives.
This individual works closely with the hospital's liability carrier to manage risk associated with hospital operations including lawsuits, to reduce risk where possible through proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies and oversees the database for occurrence reporting and assures appropriate follow-up.
KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred to be in nursing or other clinical healthcare field.
Advanced degree in law, nursing, healthcare risk management, healthcare business or business administration strongly preferred.
SKILLS:
Demonstrated knowledge of risk management principles.
Ability to apply federal/state healthcare laws & accreditation standards to all settings of care.
Proven basic statistical analysis & problem-solving skills.
Persuasive oral & written skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices including Lean, and rapid cycle improvement, project management, patient safety concepts, data analysis, data management and statistical process control in healthcare.
Strong interpersonal skills w/ proven ability to influence across functional lines.
Success in curriculum development & presentations to large groups of diverse healthcare providers.
User knowledge of various software applications.
Experience:
Substantial experience (usually seven (7) plus years) in management/patient safety or performance improvement in an integrated healthcare delivery system.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
