RN - Per Diem Float Pool

For the purpose of establishing the on call per diem float pool areas of competency will be defined as:
1 Medical Surgical - Rideout 1W, 2W, 2C, 3M, 3W, 4M 2 Critical Care - ICU, CVICU, PACU 3 Emergency Department 4 Women's and Children's Services to include L&D, Couplet Care and NICU/Nursery 5 Perioperative Services to include Surgery, Same Day Surgery, PACU, CVOR and Cath Lab Specific clinical requirements per assigned unit as follows:
Telemetry Dysrhythmia recognition course or demonstrated competency within 1 year.
CVICU / ICU / Cardiac Tele Dysrhythmia recognition course or demonstrated competency and ACLS required within 1 yr.
ICUs require completion of Critical Care Course within 1 year.
Demonstrated competency in IV Sedation within 6 months.
Perinatal Neonatal Resuscitation required within 6 months for Nursery / NICU and Labor and Delivery.
Adv.
Fetal Monitoring required within 6 months for L&D.
Pitocin Induction course during L & D orientation (plus annual competency validation).
L&D - If Basic Fetal Monitoring acquired within 3 months, Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 1 year and ACLS within 1 year.
NRP within 6 months and PCEP within 1 year.
Pediatrics PALS certification required within 1 year.
ER ACLS and PALS certification required within 1 year.
Procedures Nurse Chemotherapy certification and PICC certification, Oncology certification preferred Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology RN ACLS within 1 year, Ped Code Blue Class within 1 year, IV Sedation within 6 months
Experience:
Previous acute care experience in designated specialty or area or in a related clinical specialty LICENSE:
Valid California RN License or Interim Permit DEFINITION:
The Per Diem Float Pool Nurse is a registered professional nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated shift.
He/she prescribes nursing care based on the nursing process that is consistent with the medical plan of care and is based on input from the patient and significant others.
He/she collaborates with the physicians and other members of the health care team and coordinates the delivery of patient care to patients of any age (depending on assigned unit) including neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
The RN incorporates teaching and discharge planning needs in the overall plan of care.
He/she delegates certain aspects of patient care delivery to other nursing staff based on their current clinical competence and legal scope of practice.
Per diem float pool nurses will be assigned to partner units based on certifications and competency.
In order to qualify for the on call per diem float pool nurses must be qualified to work in a minimum of two areas of competency as defined above.
Per diem float pool nurses will be available, on an as needed basis, to fill in for absent Regular Full Time and Part Time Nurses, or otherwise satisfy immediate staffing needs.
Such Nurses may also be assigned to provide intermittent coverage for Nurses who are on rest breaks, meal breaks or otherwise temporarily available.
Per diem float pool nurses must make himself/herself available to work at least six (6) shifts per four (4) week schedule , with at least two (2) of those shifts being weekend shifts including at least one (1) Saturday shift and at least one (1) major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday.
Four (4) weeks of availability must be submitted to the staffing office at least four (4) weeks prior to the upcoming schedule period covered thereby.
Nothing shall prohibit a per diem float nurse from working in excess of the required availability.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
