Medical Social Worker
- Masters degree is required - Licensure Required - Experience is preferred DEFINITION:
The Social Worker helps cancer patients and families adjust to illness and life-style changes due to illness through counseling and coordination of community, social and hospital services.
Provides supportive services to clients from adult to geriatric.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Cancer Center Administrator and Director of Nursing RESPONSIBLE FOR:
None EXEMPTION STATUS:
Non-Exempt KNOWLEDGE:
Principles and practices of social work and case management techniques used in the cancer program arena.
Masters in Social Work, or other related field.
SKILLS:
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be a good listener, and be diplomatic in dealing with other person in job contact.
Ability to deal effectively with stress.
Experience:
Clinical experience in varied multidisciplinary settings.
Experience with oncology patients desired.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
